How to Pay jpdrop: Accepted Payment Methods & Currency Guide
jpdrop accepts all major cards through Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB) plus Apple Pay and Google Pay. Prices show in your currency using hourly exchange rates. You pay the item price plus a 5-15% service fee at checkout, then exact international shipping later once your item reaches our warehouse.
Accepted Payment Methods
All payments on jpdrop are processed securely through Stripe. You can pay with major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB. If you shop on a supported device, Apple Pay and Google Pay are also available for faster checkout. Your card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored on our servers. Because we buy from Japan's secondhand market on your behalf, you check out once in a familiar way, and we handle the purchase from the source on the other side.
Currency & Exchange Rates
jpdrop displays prices in your local currency so you can see what an item costs before you commit. Conversions use exchange rates that we refresh every hour, so the figure you see reflects a recent market rate rather than a stale estimate. We apply transparent pricing with no hidden markups layered onto the conversion. Listings are available in six languages, so you can read item details, conditions, and pricing clearly. The currency shown at checkout is the currency your card is charged in through Stripe.
The Split-Payment Model
Buying from Japan involves two costs that are known at different times, so jpdrop splits payment into two parts. At checkout you pay the item price plus a tiered service fee of 5-15% (minimum $5, maximum $50), which covers sourcing, warehouse inspection in Japan, and handling. Once your item arrives at our warehouse and is inspected, we weigh and measure it, then bill the exact international shipping separately. This keeps shipping accurate to your real parcel instead of an upfront guess, and you only pay what shipping actually costs.
- What payment methods does jpdrop accept?
- jpdrop accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB cards through Stripe, along with Apple Pay and Google Pay on supported devices.
- Why do I pay in two separate steps?
- The item price and service fee are known at checkout, but exact international shipping depends on your parcel's measured weight and size after it reaches our warehouse. Splitting payment means you pay shipping based on the real package rather than an estimate.

- jpdrop displays prices in your local currency using exchange rates updated hourly, and your card is charged in that displayed currency through Stripe.
