1. Service Overview
Kaimono is a proxy purchasing service that enables international buyers to acquire items from Japanese secondhand marketplaces. We act as an intermediary — purchasing items on your behalf, inspecting them at our Japanese warehouse, and forwarding them to your address internationally.
2. How It Works
When you place an order on Kaimono, you are requesting that we purchase the specified item from a Japanese marketplace on your behalf. Item availability is not guaranteed until we have successfully completed the purchase. If an item becomes unavailable, you will be fully refunded.
3. Pricing and Fees
Our prices include the item cost converted to your selected currency using live exchange rates, plus a 15% service fee. International shipping fees are calculated separately based on package weight and your delivery address. Exchange rates are updated hourly and the rate at the time of checkout is the final rate used.
4. Item Condition
All items sold through Kaimono are pre-owned. We translate and display the seller's original condition description as accurately as possible. Photos are sourced directly from the original listing. We inspect items upon receipt at our warehouse and will notify you of any discrepancies.
5. Refunds and Returns
Due to the nature of proxy purchasing, returns to the original seller are generally not possible. If an item is significantly different from the listing description or damaged during handling, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos. Refunds are processed on a case-by-case basis.
6. Shipping and Delivery
Estimated delivery times depend on the item's domestic shipping within Japan and the international shipping method selected. Typical delivery is 7–21 business days from order placement. Customs duties and import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.
7. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate shipping information. Incorrect address details may result in lost packages for which we cannot be held responsible.
